Spy, Soldier, Legend: Sarah Emma Edmonds | Backyard History talk in Fredericton Junction

A lone New Brunswick woman lies buried with full military honours among the other veterans of the American Civil War. She had fought in that war as a spy, a soldier, and a nurse while disguised as a man. Though her fellow soldiers knew her by her alias Frank Thompson, her real name was Sarah Emma Edmonds.

Andrew MacLean of Backyard History will be giving a talk about Sarah Emma Edmonds and the Dungarvon Whooper on August 7th in Fredericton Junction.

(These are two separate talks; it’s not the war heroine with the famous ghost story! AND dessert will be served in between the two talks!)
